Spectrum Drone Services Terms & Conditions

1.0 Definitions

Expired Course

Any online or instructor led SDS CAA affiliated drone training course which is;

i. Beyond the stated course validity period.

ii. Beyond a period of greater than 12 calendar months of the student passing the relevant course theory examination.

SDS

Spectrum Drone Services (course agent).

Student

The client / person/s who are enrolled on a Spectrum Drone Services / 3iC, CAA online or instructor led A2 CofC and/or GVC drone training course.

2.0 Terms & Conditions

2.1 Course Cancellation / Cooling Off Period

You may apply to cancel your course within 14 days for a full refund.

All refunds are subject to the following conditions;

  1. Allow up to 28 days for refund processing.

  2. Refunds are paid into the account from where fees were received only.

  3. Refunds are subject to a deduction of £25 processing fee + where applicable, deduction of initial order card/online processing fee as charged by our eCommerce payment system.

  4. After 14 days but less than 28 days, at the descension of SDS and limited to a maximum 50% refund.

  5. After 28 days, refunds are not available.

  6. Where an instructor led course was delivered in full or part, refunds are not available.

2.2 Receiving Online Course Online Login Details

Our online training partners aim to provide course login details within 24hrs of course purchased Monday to Thursday (inclusive).

Courses purchased Friday to Sunday (inclusive) login details will be provided on the following Monday.

SDS does not accept responsibility for the delay in the supply of student login information due to delay by its training partner, or where such emailed course login information has been subject to internet, email or firewall filters.

2.3 Online Course Validity

Online courses come with up to 6 calendar months access to the training portal, the student should aim to complete student course within this 6 calendar months period.

Where access is not available to the training portal within a course validity period, SDS will make learning materials available by alternate means, material format of which will be at the discretion of SDS.

2.4 Expired Courses

Where a course that requires a Practical Flight Assessment, and the flight assessment process has not been completed within 12 calendar months of the student/s passing the relevant course theory examination, the student/s will be required to carry out the following prior to moving onto the next Practical Flight Assessment phase;

  1. Enrole on a new relevant theory course (at the student/s additional expense)*

  2. Pass a current course relevant, theory examination.

*SDS may provide a reduced fee at its discretion.

2.5 Theory Examination Resits

Where a student/s theory exam resit is required, this is charged separately on a per exam basis, to cover additional invigilation time and administration costs at the discretion of SDS.

2.6 Practical Flight Assessments

The student/s are required to complete to a satisfactory level all course related pre Practical Flight Assessment processes before they are eligible for a Practical Flight Assessment (flight planning).

Where a course requires a Practical Flight Assessment, the flight assessment process must be completed within 12 calendar months of the student passing the relevant course theory examination.

Where a period of greater than 12 calendar months of the student passing the relevant course theory examination, any relevant course theory examinations are expired, and the course is considered as being expired.
