The GVC (General Visual Line of Sight Certificate) is the new CAA commercial standard in drone training allowing you to operate drones less than 25Kg commercially in the Specific Category of legislation.
GVC - Online Course
After enrolment the comprehensive introduction module will guide you through the process of how to access the course so you can obtain everything you need. Many people prefer web based training. if this is you then the this course is ideal.
Flexible Learning
Your course is valid for a period of 6 months giving you plenty of time to complete the required elements. It will take around 12-15 hours to complete the theory phase, but there is no rush. You can learn at your own pace, you are in control and can decide how much you want to study and when.
You won’t be expected to go through lots of reference documents, the course is clearly laid out and all the information is easy to absorbed,
You can stop, start or revisit a module at any time making our online eLearning package a very flexible solution.

Instructor Led Upgrade Modules
Should you wish you have the option to upgrade any of the course modules to instructor led at any time.
This is a very helpful option as there is no substitute to having a 1-1 with an knowledgeable and experienced instructor.
Instructor led module upgrades can be carried out at our Bristol training centre or via Zoom for those not within easy travelling distance.

Principles of Fight & Battery Safety - £40 (90min).

Theory Examination
On completion of the theory modules contact us to arrange a time for your exam that suits you.
You have the option to take an online exam, or visit our training centre South of Bristol, the choice is yours.
The exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions covering the content of the modules, and you will require a computer/laptop with webcam, speakers and microphone if taking your exam online.
Operations Manual
We provide you with our excellent Operations Manual template resources to assist you in writing this CAA required document and will guide and support you through the process of shaping the document to suit your operations. We are professional auditors of CAA documents so you can be assured you get the best information and support.
Practical Flight Assessment
The Practical Flight Assessment is primarily safety focused and tests a candidate’s flying skill and safe operational ability. This is set against the processes stated in your Operations Manual. We will provide you with close support and guidance documents leading up to the assessment so nothing will come as a surprise to you. Your Assessor will be looking for safe and competent flying – were not looking for Red Arrow drone pilots! Your instructor will quickly put you at your ease to ensure that you perform to your maximum capability.
To ease you into the assessment we can provide pre-assessment flight training for those with some flying experience or train you to professional standard from scratch for those new to drones. Please contact us for options.
This course includes your flight assessment from one of our South West based assessment locations. If you are not South West based and require a flight assessment in your area, this can be arranged but a local assessment fee may apply. Please contact us for details before booking if you are not able to attend a South West based flight assessment.
The Flight Assessment process takes approximately 1hr.
Course Supporting Documentation
To complement our CAA approved GVC drone training course we have created a 170 page Student Manual which contains all the course content.
Each module is laid out in a logical and easy to read format.
You can use your Student Manual to follow along in the lessons, use it as a revision aid prior to your exam or for reference in the future once you gain your CAA Operational Authorisation.
The Student Manual will be available once you have enrolled on one of our CAA approved GVC drone courses, and is supplied electronically in pdf format to help save the environment.
CAA Operational Authorisation Application
Once you have completed the process, you can then apply to the CAA for an Operational Authorisation. We will provide you with support for your application to the CAA.
*CAA GVC Operational Authorisation application fee is not included.
GVC & A2 CofC Combo
For commercial flexibility we offer a combined GVC and A2 CofC enabling you to operate with less restrictions in some environments.
Fixed Wing & Multirotor Combined Courses
Our course price includes a flight assessment on one class of drone (a multirotor or fixed wing). If you require both multirotor & fixed wing combined. please contact us for pricing before placing an order.
Bolt On Modules
We offer a range of additional bolt on modules you can add to your course. You can pick and mix and these are great if you want to expand your knowledge and skills.
Bolt on modules can be carried out after the course, so you can relax and learn new skills, or you can come back at a future date.
